Journal Tigerman
Ping BlogJournal Tigerman is Back!
After over 6 months away, Journal Tigerman is back with weekly, if not more, entries. Tigerman Enterprises has undergone some minor, but not insignificant, changes over those 6 months. For one thing, the HnV Products arm of Tigerman Enterprises will no longer take up much of my time. I will be throwing all my energy into the GT Services division, both in the execution of client work and the development of new business.
In fact, it was work for 2 new clients, additional work for existing clients and the pursuit of 2 other potential clients that has occupied all my time over the past several months. Not to mention, the attempt to identify additional resources to assist Tigerman Enterprises in the work required to support existing clients. Check out the most recent client I have landed, Leo The Marketer, and the work I’ve done for them.
But enough about that client stuff you are not really interested in. Howabout taking a look at something that could really help you out? I’m talking about a relatively inexpensive computer accessory that could help make your laptop PC function more like your traditional home office desktop computer. I am talking about the 4-port USB Hub. This will turn your laptop’s one vital USB port into 4 fully functioning ports. Click here and check it out.
May 30: What’s Happening with Tigerman Enterprises?
Hi there everyone. It’s your Tigerman back online after more than a week away. It’s just about the end of the Memorial Day holiday and it’s just about time for this Tigerman to get back to work. During the holiday weekend, I took the time to take care of a few items related to Tigerman‘s online and business endeavors. Here’s a rundown of the key items that have taken Tigerman‘s time this past week and half.
Email Cleanup
Probably the biggest thing I did was cleanup my email. That means saving the various issues of all the email subscriptions I have signed up for over the previous months. In reality, it amounted to saving the email to the Tigerman Enterprises knowledgebase regardless of whether I actually read the article or not. As I completed this, I also realized that I need to reorganize my knowledgebase where this is concerned.
New Client
I have completed some very basic start-up work for a new client. Small Farming Supplies is just being established as the US division of the UK company GN Ltd. GN Ltd‘s owner’s son has taken up residence in Bergen County NJ. I have had some organizational meetings with this guy, Luke. It looks like I will be developing a WordPress website for the new company. I am going to need to work with another contact of theirs who is pretty good with SEO. And as my girlfriend Amber points out to me, SEO needs to be considered during the initial design of the website. SEO can’t be an afterthought.
I made contact with Luke through his cousin Paul who I know from the St. Lukes / Our Savior congregation. He’s the one I am currently building another website for based on an idea he is very excited about; but I can’t talk about it here as of yet. That site is still going through its various construction pains and issues. However, I should be able to work out those issues over the next couple of days and make some significant progress. I better make some good progress soon because I may have some additional client opportunities in the coming weeks.
Website Traffic
I also started on implementing the plug-in that should get me a huge volume of ping backs and traffic to the Tigerman Enterprises website and Journal Tigerman in particular. It’s expected that this approach will result in a higher search engine ranking. I have been a bit fearful of actually going through and getting it up and running. However, even though I don’t really know what the effect of such a process will be, I should probably just bite the bullet and let it fly. From what I can see, the code I need to set up will initiate ping backs from over a 100 different sites. This could work for or against me in the long run. However, if anything goes wrong I’ll just view it as a learning experience. I’ll just have to deal with any negative consequences later. Of course, it could just as easily turn out to be just fine and bring Tigerman Enterprises a huge amount of traffic.
Stripes
I have been publishing my nutritional newsletter; Ultimate Health & Vitality, online as a separate blog post here on Journal Tigerman. I have just decided to incorporate Ultimate Health & Vitality topics into the overall Tigerman Enterprises newsletter; Stripes. The first issue of Stripes will appear shortly after this post is published. How much more appropriate can the play on words get, given the holiday we are celebrating today?
Conclusion
I am beginning to think I am spreading myself a bit too thin these days. As I complete this post and look back on what I’ve written about, I can see that it does not even begin to address the other things that are on my plate and need taking care of. But above all, no matter how tough I think I have it, I just have to remember that there’s someone else out there who has it worse than I do. And by all means, let’s not forget to honor ALL our veterans and current military personnel this Memorial Day. One can only imagine the sacrifices that have been made by these young men and women in the service of our great nation.
May 21: What’s Happening with Tigerman Enterprises?
It’s been quite a week for me and Tigerman Enterprises. It’s time for a bit of a status report of sorts. I feel like I have been working hard all week but when I look at the results of my efforts, the results seem a bit lacking. On the Tigerman Enterprises side of the ledger, I completed / worked on the following:
- Another week of work writing for the Marinwood Real Estate blog. I put in only 12 hours this week. I am virtually working on my own now for Bay Area Real Estate Sales in Marin County California. It’s strictly a remote working arrangement. I originally found the work through the oDesk online employment agency. Which reminds me; I need to update my portfolio there for recent work completed and some technical issues with the textual content that is there.
- I spent a good amount of time working on the IMPERSONATEandRATE website prototype for Paul. I think I have finally figured out how to solve one of the outstanding functional issues. I need to continue working on that assignment and contact Paul to set up the next steps for this website development; as well as, a potential development assignment with a new client of his. I should plan to see him at the St Lukes / Our Savior church rummage sale on Saturday.
- I also need to get more serious about the marketing and business development activities required for the two main divisions of Tigerman Enterprises; GTServices and HnVProducts. I want to completely minimise the marketing and advertising costs involved here. Of course, doesn’t every small business want to achieve that? I am thinking that I need to make better use of email marketing and Craigslist. I just haven’t been able to dedicate the time necessary for this area for the development of the proper materials. That’s going to have to be a higher priority for the coming week.
Well these three things seem like areas that will sufficiently take up most; if not all, of my time over the coming weeks. Sometimes I wonder if I am spreading myself a bit too thin.
How Do I Find Opportunities?
This is the question all entrepreneurs and business owners are constantly asking. The answer to this question maintains the life blood of you and your organization. It is vital for any new business owner such as myself. As I went over my business readings, I experienced an epiphany of sorts. I was quite surprised to realize that this was not a question of “finding” opportunities; but more a question of “attracting” opportunities.
Past Impressions
I was always under the impression that it depended on the basic points of preparation, hard work and persistence. It became clear to me that these characteristics were all about executing the work related to the opportunity once it had been realized. These valuable assets actually have very little to do with getting the opportunity in the first place.
Success and opportunity aren’t necessarily things you go after, but things you ATTRACT – by being an attractive company or person. That’s why the development of yours and your company’s skills is so important. On both the personal and professional levels, developing your assets; eg., maintaining your health and fitness, refining the components of your character, keeping up good relationships, etc., is the foundation for increasing your attractiveness to the marketplace.
Opportunity Finds You
That’s right! In all probability opportunity will seek you out. Your new reputation will always precede you. When that happens people will want to be your business partner; they’ll want to do business with your company. The philosophy of the Law of Attraction kicks in and makes these possibilities a reality. The key thing to remember is to continually make yourself; and your company, more attractive by developing your skills, discipline, personality, company character and reputation. All this refinement is valued in the marketplace.
Personal and professional development is the never-ending journey of improvement that affect others AND attracts opportunity.
